Songwriter, who wrote the hit songs "Tweedle Dee" for LaVern Baker and "Return to Sender" for Elvis Presley. The latter was his biggest hit as a writer, selling over 14 million copies in the US alone. He was a long time collaborator of Otis Blackwell. Early in his career Scott was also a singer using the alias Robbie Kirk.
