Country bar band that were legendary in Chicago, and played there in various bars and clubs for some 30 years. Originally known as the Circle C Boys, they named themselves "The Sundowners" in 1960 after the Robert Mitchum film released that same year. The members are now all deceased, but were highly influential on the insurgent country musicians based in Chicago, many of whom have released albums on Chicago's Bloodshot label.
