Comments: Ghanaian-English-Dutch pianist and singer. Kaye also played drums and guitars. Although born in London, he considered himself African and worked for Ghana after it became independent, where he lived for a time in the 1960s. With Kwame Nkrumah's overthrow, Caye was viewed as politically suspect as a result of his work for the Nkrumah govenment, and he switched his base of operations to Lagos, Nigeria, returning to England in 1970.
