Comments: Producer, songwriter and singer. In the 1940s he was a faculty member in economics at Tufts College in Boston where he and Phyllis Stohn wrote and composed a musical revue, "Rise Above It!" Preston "Sandy" Sandiford, noted Boston area pianist and arranger, was also involved in this project. By the late 1940s Gold and Sandiford were recording for the Gold Medal label. By the mid 1950s Gold was primarily involved with producing and sales and owning small record labels. Later he was a songwriter and producer for Columbia and United Artists.
