Born on a United States Air Force base in what was than British Guyana, Greaves, a popular singer, grew up in the U.S. on a Seminole Indian Reservation. He moved to England in 1963, establishing a career both there and in the Caribbean, but returned to the States by the end of the decade. After an unsuccessful attempt to revive his singing career in the late-1970s, Greaves went to work in the technology industry.
