Vocalist and night club entertainer born in Youngstown, Ohio. After his military service in World War II, he moved to New York City where he had his own radio show; His musical director was Mac Ceppos, One of his guests was Duke Ellington. From 1948 to 1952 he and Kay Armen were the featured vocalists on the ABC radio network's popular quiz show, "Stop the Music" (emceed by Bert Parks). In 1957 he decided to become a cantor and entered a five year program of study at Hebrew Union College. After receiving his degree he taught history and music of the Bible and was a cantor and educational director at temples in Coral Gables, Florida, South Bend, Indiana, Charlotte, North Carolina and Des Moines, Iowa.
