Your question should be directed toward the Cole Porter site already left as a reference. They have proven to be extremely accurate. Rather, are you saying the source is shit?
Just my guess, but between the musicians strikes and in particular the shellac shortages of the time http://www.livinghistoryfarm.org/farminginthe40s/life_08.html , I can see the album release and thus the individual sides being held back until 1944.
For the same reasons I don't expect the expected correlation between recording dates and release dates in the US in the early 1940s.

Yes, corrected.
Fool That I Am (LaVern Baker)
It is a different person, now Herbert Wilson [1] The database definitely did not give me an existing popup match here and the system then used the existing Herbert Wilson. Since no proof is possible there is no point in reporting this type of error, which I have seen before. It would be a bad thing to assume a blues artist is a country pop songwriter, no? And all I've found for [1] is that he has a middle initial W.
Thanks for the error report. The only other way I can catch these is if I notice an artist missing from my new artists list.
Now added, with the original. Thanks!

This is from a demo which is not permitted in the database. Our apologies.
