About the advanced search

The advanced search searches for relations between songs based on predefined criteria. Note that you can try any criteria combination you like, but that not all combinations yield results.

Advanced search examples

• Search for English songs that were covered in Italian.
• Search for songs released in 1980 that were sampled in 1999.
• Search for songs written by Irving Berlin that were covered in 2005.
• Search for all songs released on the Blue Note label that were sampled.
• Search for all songs released on the Capitol label that cover a song from the Beatles' album Revolver.

Advanced searching hints

Song relation

The field "Relation between song 1 and song 2" chooses the type of cover relation: cover, partial cover or sample. If no relation is chosen explicitly, any relation will be searched for.

Limit search

Searches are by default limited to 200 results. You can increase this up to 500 by changing the "Limit search results to" box.

Exact search

When the checkbox "Exact search" is checked, all fields that were filled in will have to match the data exactly. Only use this option if you get too many results with a standard search.

Date fields

When entering dates, the format YYYY-MM-DD should be used, MM and DD being optional. You can also choose ">" or "<" to search for dates after or prior to the date entered.
