- Formed by Ray Charles. Initially as 'Tangerine Record Corporation' changing to 'Tangerine Records' in the mid-60s. The label's output was devoted to West Coast and jump-blues; on it's roster were artists like Louis Jordan, Percy Mayfield, Lula Reed, Ike and Tina Turner, and Charles' vocal backing group The Raelettes.
