- Label based in Hollywood, Los Angeles. Formed by Herb Newman and his cousin Lou Bedell, the label recorded popular, country and western and jazz music. In 1959 Bedell sold his interest to Herb Newman. In the 1970s the Era label was sold to K-tel, who used the imprint on compilation releases.
