Comments
U.S. jazz label formed in 1948 by Albert Marx. Throughout the 1980s, the label primarily reissued older jazz recordings. In 1991, Marx's Estate sold this label and two other jazz labels to Jac Holzman, who started issuing new recordings on the label. In 1993, Discovery became part of the Warner Music Group, and in 1996, the label was absorbed into Sire.
