Launched by producer/composer Bob Thiele, who was married to three of Signature's vocalists: Monica Lewis, Jane Harvey and Teresa Brewer. The label was reorganized in 1959 when Steve Allen joined the company and he brought with him the Hanover label which he established in 1958. In 1960 Roulette purchased a majority share of Signature and the label was closed down shortly afterwards. In 1974 the label was restarted with releases by Thiele and his wife, Teresa Brewer.
