History
Goed gezien Vic,
One of the most memorable and influential songs from the 1960's is Good Lovin' by the Young Rascals. Almost everyone knows the song and it's been used in several movies. This is the complete story behind that song, going all the way back to the original version written by a cat named Rudy Clark. Dissatisfied with the lyrics after hearing Lemme B Good's recording, Rudy asked record producer Artie Resnick for help. A new version of the song, with the updated lyrics, was recorded by The Olympics. Artie thought a British Invasion group might cover the song, but that didn't happen. When The Young Rascals from New Jersey released their version, Artie was disappointed at first. But his mood improved considerably when their version went to number one on the charts!

Die van David Clayton-Thomas hoort hier in ieder geval niet thuis, is een andere song

1) Although I cannot fine a youtube version of the David Clayton Thomas version of Good Lovin (YET), I did find this after surmising that it had to be a different song, same name from 1953, the one by the Clovers, if so, where his (DCT) cover should go:

Track E 3
2) Well it looks like they (whoever did it) may have gotten the credits wrong. First, here is the you tube of the DCT album with Good Lovin-- at 25:29 and hear the song is a cover of a James Brown original ( Albert Shubert, James Brown) actual title is Good Good Lovin. SO THAT is where DCT cover belongs. Even on his website, the info is incorrect. (Here I also used SHS info.)

Alright,
In my comment above I already mentioned the fact that David Clayton Thomas "Good Lovin" isn't a version of the original by Lemme B Good.
But David Clayton Thomas "Good Lovin" being a version of the James Brown song (despite the fact that the credits link it to the Clovers version) is a good find.
JoJo greets.

This is in the Dutch language and means:
The David Clayton-Thomas version doesn't belong here, is a different song.

Thanks-- but I did not know that when I posted / wrote my comment and was responding to:

The DCT version is now corrected after being identified as a James Brown cover.
Thank you so much!
Yes, the Lemme B. Good needs to be added.
All others are slight rewrites (adaptations) with an additional author.
"Rudy Clark wrote the song as recorded by Lemme but wasn't satisfied with the lyrics. Clark then approached Artie Resnick for help and they reworked it. After the Olympics cut it, Resnick was told a British band (possibly the Dave Clark 5 or Swinging Blue Jeans) would be recording it. When that didn't happen, Artie was disappointed to learn it was going to be done by an unknown US group; the Young Rascals. After theirs hit number one, he didn't complain! All versions after Lemme's rightly credit Clark and Resnick as writers."
"Lemme B. Good was soul singer Limmie Snell, who also recorded as Limmie B. Good, Limmie & The Family Cooking (with his two sisters) and Limmie Funk Unlimited."
EDIT: I haven't seen it other than a promo.

That's what I thought too at first, but then I saw it listed in Billboard 17 Apr 1965.
Updated. All ok now?
