Any way to doublecheck this, like for example a tracklist with authors per song?
Answer:
It's hard to know how seriously to take references that seem
self-referential, like the one below. It contains information about the
recording that I mentioned, which I also have in my hot little hand at this
moment. As an aside, I've heard several versions (perhaps 6) of this song,
and this is my favorite. Other versions that I expected to like, for
instance one by Doc Watson, has slightly changed lyrics for which I can't
understand a reason, and that I don't like at all. Go figure.

Hello Stranger on Mike Seeger's 1964 Vanguard album was definitely written by A.P. (Alvin Pleasant) Carter and thus a cover of this original: Hello Stranger
