Recording: Transfusion Blues

Performed by:Johnny Cash
First release: On audio album
Now, There Was a Song! (1960)
Comments: This cover is credited to Roy Hogsed, which we think is a mistake. The confusion is probably due to the fact that Roy Hogsed had a little hit with a cover version of "Cocaine Blues". Finally, note that the song was renamed "Transfusion Blues" because cocaine was taboo. Interestingly, when Johnny Cash released this song under the original title "Cocaine Blues" in 1968 it was again credited to T.J. Arnall.
