The song was originally released by Brian Hyland on 08/09/1960 on Kapp records K342 and had "Don't Dilly Dally,Sally" on the B-side.

In Canada,it was released on Leader L-805 with the same B-side.

In France,it was on an EP,released on Kapp 214001.

This song has also been covered by the Austrian band "Drahdiwaberl" in 1982 under the german title "Itsy bitsy teeny weene Honolulu Strandbikini". The song has been published as a B-Side of their 7" Single "Lonely", GIG Records 1982, Credits (Sheeley).

The Credits shown on the 7" for "Itsy Bitsy..." are: (Vance/Pockriss/Loose). The Record has been published by GIG Records Austria, Code GIG 111 125
