What sources for information about albums / release dates do you consider more reliable?

wwwp.musicmatch.com

www.allmusic.com

or others?

Do you prefer information from the (official) site of the artist? Or label?

I know that I am new also, but I do know, from what I have read on this forum, that allmusic.com alone isn't a valid source. I don't know the full reasoning behind this, but I can understand that sometimes that site doesn't always list everything that you need to verify that it is a cover.

We don't like Allmusic as a source because it's full of mistakes, especially in two areas:

  • There is hardly any distinction between releases and rereleases, such that release years are inaccurate and it is also unclear whether songs were on the original release.
  • The credits are also full of mistakes.

And titles of songs and album are frequently not correct (articles ignored for example).

But normally is the quick way to find the performer of the original release
