Not sure if you're still motivated (it took me too long to answer to your besame mucho post), but in case you still are, here we go again for a few questions.
What's your source for the authors of this song?
Bastien,
According to Tom Russell's website, he is credited with the song along with Nanci Griffith as it appeared on the album
"Poor Man's Dream" released on Philo 1989. The notes read "All songs by Tom Russell except where noted".
The website for Tome Russell is http://www.tomrussell.com/index_flash.html
The following is a quote from a website called Starpulse:
Tom Russell Band
Poor Man's Dream
Release Date: 1990
Running Time: 46:14
Label: Avid
Rating:
One of Russell's best albums, Poor Man's Dream is dominated by inspired folk/rock performances and by songs that sound like classics that have been around forever. In fact, Russell wrote 11 of the dozen tracks within a few years of the disc's release (though he had help on a few numbers from the likes of Katy Moffatt, Nancy Griffith, and Ian Tyson). Picking standouts on an album this strong isn't easy, but if pressed you might name "Walkin on the Moon," awhich is about falling in love; the melancholy "Spanish Burgundy"; "Gallo del Cielo," about a man trying to win the money to buy back his father's land; and "Navajo Rug," a nostalgic look at old times and an old love. Today many of these songs sound like standards; someday, one suspects, they will be. Jeff Burger, All Music Guide (emphasis added)
That makes three sources: Griffith's discography and website, Russell's Discography and website, and a review from the All Music Guide.
Enough?
Where I am trying to get to is the following:
http://www.secondhandsongs.com/wiki/Main/Bookmarks#composers
These are the best sources for looking up authors of composers, it's much more accurate than whatever you find on a website, a CD or LP sleeve, etc..
So my question is: can you verify your credits with one of these databases?
I gotcha...

Perfect, this is exactly what I meant! And in the same time this helped me to complete the full names of Nanci Griffith and Tom Russell:

What's your source for this? I don't see the C2 prefix on the back cover of the CD.

C-2 may have been an Amazon catalogue number. I don't have my copy of the CD in front of me as I am in Saudi Arabia and my collection is in Texas.
Ok, in that case www.mega-search.net is worth checking out. This is a search engine for front and back coves of CD. Tell me what you found for this case.
From allcdcovers.com, the following is the catalogue number from the back and the spine of Aces by Suzy Bogguss, released in 1991:

This is like an huge scavenger hunt and you have no idea how much things like this intrigue me. I have some great new resources and it makes me want to go home, sell all 950+ of my CD's and start all over again with new ones (besides, I have transferred all my CD's to a 160GB hard drive the size of a deck of cards and now I am wondering why I am taking up all this shelf space for CD's that I don't really need. You can find the artwork and liner notes online very easily with the resources that Second Hand Songs has provided).

Absolutely correct. Glad to hear you enjoy the researching.
Release date: Sept, 27/1991
Finally, let's see about the release date. Where did you find this release date, and what makes you think this information is trustworthy?
Ah now I get to ask a question... which release date? The original or the cover?
