Johnny Shines first recorded "Terraplane Blues" in 1952 for the JOB label. It was titled "Fish Tail" and remained unissued at the time. In 1965 he recorded the song (as "Dynaflow Blues") again. This version was released in 1966 on Vanguard VRS 9218 "Chicago - The Blues - Today! Vol. 3".
