Was it released as "Tequila"? Who was labeled as performer of this version? Label? Cat number?

2 CD :Clasicos del mambo : édité par Baur Music Production (Suisse) sous licence de Better Music, Barcelona. Réf.: BMP 51713. Année ???? J'ai acheté le mien en 1992.
Tu remarqueras que le crédit est Perez Prado et non Chuck Rio qui n'a jamais rien composé ni avant 1958 ni après...A part, peut-être, Too much tequila...mais je n'en suis pas sûr.

Oui, il s'agit bien de Tequila de et par Perez Prado plus connue dans la cover des Champs : qu'on appelle "mambo a la rock".
Malheureusement, ce n'est pas daté. Il est fort probable que Prado ait composé cette chanson à Tequila (MEX) quand il a quitté Cuba en 1948.

Sans date d'enregistrement ce sera dur de la metter comme "first recording".
Par contre, si tu trouves la date de release, nous pouvons la rajouter comme version.

Figiure-toi qu'il y a des années que je recherche la date de parution de Tequila par Perez Prado.
Jusqu'à il y a peu, je n'ai toujours rien trouvé mais je n'abandonne pas.

J'ai vu son tout 1er EP et Tequila n'est pas dessus ni même sur le suivant.
Pourtant, j'ai un double CD avec Tequila créditée à Perez Prado.
Même le site LAVENTURE de Joseph Levy n'en sais rien non plus. On n'y trouve ce titre après celui des Champs.
Mais je reste covaincu que Chuck Rio n'a pas composé cet instru. Il n'a plus jamais rien composé d'autre par la suite.

Was this vid dating back to 1972 ?
Je viens d'aller voir sur Google México : là j'ai trouvé 1947. Pas de label mais enregistré avant son contrat chez RCA en 1950.
J'ai aussi un 2CD compilés en Suisse (années 90) dans lequel Tequila est crédité à Pérez Prado par qlq qui s'appelle Sandra Zamora...Il probable que l'inlay card se trouve qlq part sur SHS...

This is a remake not an original, released in 1972 on Mexican Orfeon/Dimsa.
"A flamboyant showman, Prado revamped the exotic chestnuts in unique ways: "Caravan," "Taboo," "Flamingo," "Hawaiian War Chant," even "Hava Nagila." Later he toyed with such mod, 1960s hits as "Goin' Out of My Head" and "The Monkees" theme. Version of "Tequila" on here is NOT the same that appears on the Pantaleon LPs).
