"If I Had My Druthers" composed by Gene De Paul with lyrics by Johnny Mercer


Written for the Broadway musical Li'l Abner, which opened on 15th November 1956.


First released on the original cast soundtrack on 26th November 1956, according to here:

but it didn't debut on the Billboard 200 until 29th December 1956.


Original artist credit appears to be Peter Palmer, Marc Breaux, Ralph Linn, Jack Matthew, Robert McLure & George Reeder.
