There are 6 covers on the new Fountains of Wayne double album 'Out-of-State' Plates (Virgin Records June 28,2005).

One of my favourite covers at the moment, better than the original, played in a minor key, so it sounds both ironic and sincere at the same time:

Britney Spears - ...Baby One More Time ...Baby One More Time

Jackson Browne (Jackson Browne ): ‘These Days’ first released on the album ‘For Everyman’ Released October 15, 1973 on Asylum Records (SD 5067) http://www.jrp-graphics.com/jb/fe.html

Electric Light Orchestra: ‘Can’t get it out of my Head’ Can't Get It Out of My Head

Gene Pitney (Gene Pitney ):’Today’s Teardrops’ (Gene Pitney/Aaron Schroeder) first released by Roy Orbison (Roy Orbison ) (March 1960, MO425)
