Acc to Rosemont recorded by Palmera as early as 1937.
Lupita Palomera con la Lira de San Cristobal
on (Mexican) Victor 75940 single.
This predates her 1955 recording with Orquesta de Rafael De Paz, now on SHS.

We also have listed a 1939 recording by Palomera. Since the artists are different per SHS ground rules, both versions are allowed. The earliest for us would probably be whoever performed in the movie "La mujer que amó en vano" ("Perfidia" in the US(!)) That is probably sung by her also, but remains unconfirmed. I have seen more than one source that noted Palomera sang "Frenesi" in that movie, but vague in crediting "Perfidia".

Victor 75940 identifies the song as "del ( = from the) film Perfidia". The movie was released in 1939 in Mexico and 1940 in the USA. And the record was in the American charts in 1948 BB
So, the chronology should be:
- 1937 recorded
- 1939 included in the movie (Visual performance added Perfidia)
- later in 1939 released as 78 rpm in Mexico
- 1948 reissued in the USA
I found it a bit odd, but not totally unbelievable.
