Samba de Verão

The question if Eumir Deodato recorded the very first version of Samba de Verão is hard to be concluded. According to Instituto Memória Musical Brasileira (IMMUB) [http://www.memoriamusical.com.br] the song was recorded in 9 versions in 1964 by Pedrinho Mattar, Os Cariocas, Wilson Miranda, Dóris Monteiro, J.T. Meirelles & Os Copa 5, Conjunto OK and Roberto Menescal. Eumir Deodato recorded the song twice in 1964, on his solo album Idéias and on the album Impulso! credited to Eumir Deodato & Os Catedráticos.

Another tough case. So, you think there's absolutely no way to determine the first release?

I got the information from originals.be, but if I compare the sources I think they're wrong, because they say the 1965 Marcos Valle recording was "the first vocal version."

The only feeble hint is that Doris Monteiro was apparently the only one who released the song as a single in 1964.

In the meantime I found Marcos Valle's 1964 single release on Discogs: http://www.discogs.com/Marcos-Valle-Samba-De-Ver%C3%A3o-Vamos-Pranchar/release/3...

Presumably, he might be the one with the debut release. The catalogue number Odeon 7B-075 only confirms the year 1964 as numbers 7B-05x to 7B-09x were issued in 1964. As far as I know, Odeon was one of the labels to assign catalogue numbers chronologically, which suggest that it was a midyear release, but maybe that's too much interpretation, since the same approach works for Eumir Deodato's album.

Modified. Now Valle is the original performer.
