22 years after it topped the charts Madonna is being sued for copyright infringement over her hit song Vogue.
Verse Music Group, which holds the rights to the Salsoul Records catalogue, has filed a lawsuit against the megastar claiming she used samples of a 1975 song called 'Chicago Bus Stop (Ooh, I Love It) (Love Break)' by The Salsoul Orchestra.
The lawsuit claims, "The portions of 'Love Break', which have been copied into 'Vogue' and all its various mixes, remixes, videos, YouTube versions, etc. are numerous but intentionally hidden. The horn and strings in 'Vogue' are intentionally sampled from 'Love Break' throughout."
Music producer Shep Pettibone had a hand in both 'Love Break' and 'Vogue', so his name is also mentioned in the suit, with the company claiming he "intentionally disguised the sampling he did in ‘Vogue.'"
Decide for yourself; do they have a case?!
