From the guidelines: Media are often released on different labels. When choosing an edition we always choose the first released edition. However, if this isn't a criterion that distincts both editions, we choose the label who owns the copyright. This is often the label of the country the artist originates from.

In this case, we have two different releases from the same label, and they came out at the same time (presumably). So, I'd give preference to the US single.

Thank you for the reply. Can't I just continue submitting covers with all the appropriate information (on the form-as much as I can find)and leave the selection process of which to include to those with more expertise--you and the editors? Please.?

No special rule. As you see, this database is organized by works and performances. A medley is just a performance of two or more works. Hope I was clear, you can see Bacharach/David Medley for instance.

Why are you asking me that? Wink I won't stop you for sure, it's just that sometimes even the editors are in a cul de sac and need further help from the users. And expert, dedicated and patient users may even become editors, if they want to...

Because sometimes I don't understand what it is that is wanted-- for instance, the reason I included the UK version was that it had a date (and last time someone asked me for that-- the date. Another example is-- re promo copies: How does one know this? (below)

"would think we would want to allow 'promotional' releases if they were issued to the public in some way, such as through an individual store, or a cereal box offer, or something like that.

however, if it is just a 'music industry only' kind of promotional release - often songwriters/publishers will put together a promotional CD of their songs to send to music supervisors from movies, etc. - then I would think it is not officially 'public' and should not be used."

You didn't do anything wrong. It was me who didn't understand if I had to add the UK or the US single.

I don't agree with the guidelines about promos, so I can't be very helpful here Smile

Just do what you did with "Running Scared": if it's a promo, specify it and we'll decide what to do.
