Thanks for posting !
PS: Which cover one was first?! 1910 Fruitgum or Giuliano e i Notturni ?! Could you do some extra research ?! Thanks, Ignazio !
If you look in the discography of the American group 1910 Fruitgum Company, between the singles 45 rpm, you'll see that "Simon Says" is for January 1968, is indicated by (1/68)

The version of Giuliano and Nocturnes is confirmed as the date by >http://www.45cat.com/record/rfnnp16257
If you look at even the version of the Primitives Mal is always 1968, but I noticed that you have mistakenly inserted in the database with the title "Semplicissimo" while the LP was recorded under the title "Il Ballo Di Simone"

We here at SecondHandSongs are always very cautious with Wikipedia..... I do believe the Italian release date of January 1968 is way too early. The British single was released February 17, 1968. I do think it must have been released later than that
Hello Erik, I did not say that the date of the publication of "Il Ballo di Simone" was in January 1968.
If I wrote in a rather correct (it's just the fault of Google Translator)
The release date of the disc of "Giuliano e i Notturni" remains to be confirmed (April 1968) as my first report.

As for the original song "Simon Says" group 1910 Fruitgum Company, unfortunately is not known the exact month of publication, but it is obvious that it is also impossible that is published after the Italian adaptation of "Il Ballo Di Simone" .
Here in Italy, there was only one case of "cover" Italian, which anticipated the release of the original, and has been for the famous "Cuando Calienta el Sol", but clearly provoked a legal dispute between the record companies.
If the single released in the UK, as reported to you is (17 Feb. 1968), probably Wikipedia, this time he is right, putting the release date in USA (January 1968)

Another interesting finding is that the original version of "Simon Says" was published in Ireland (1967),

as well as in Canada (December 1967)

Instead I found the Italian version of "Semplicissimo" sung by "1910 Fruitgum Company", had been brought to the "FestivalBar", Italy, September 19, 1968.
On the cover of the disc is marked (Semplicissimo "Simon Says")
and in the Hit Parade Italy appears as "Simon Says".
This song entered the classiffica (7 September 1968) and remained there until the (16 November 1968), then to give way to the Italian version of "Il Ballo di Simone" by Giuliano e i Notturni.
