Lafayette Afro Rock Band
This rock band was formed in 1970 by a group of African-Americans in Long Island (New York city), initially under the name Bobby Boyd Congress . After the first recordings, they could not sell enough of their records, due to a highly competitive market inside the United States. So they decided in 1971 to change emigrating to France (Paris). The singer and frontman Bobby Boyd soon left the band to pursue a solo career in the U.S., while the rest of the band succeeded in becoming the first session band for the label in Paris "Parisound studio" changing their name to "Ice" and later adopted the name "Lafayette Afro Rock Band."
