Song to the Siren

It seems this famous Tim Buckley song has been released by Pat Boone in 1969 (with title "Song OF the Siren"), before Tim Buckley did it in 1970 on his album Starsailor. However, Buckley had sung this song on a TV show in 1968.

Who do we consider then as the original artist? I suggest Tim Buckley, because he had sung it already in public before Pat Boone released it. I'd like to hear other opinions.

My common sense says Tim Buckley.

Mine too. Since there is probably a tape of that TV-show somewhere it should be recorded too.

Bastien, could you write in the comments of Tim Buckley's original he had sung the song already on a TV show in 1968? And maybe you could change the year of the song to 1968.

Done. It's a pity you don't know the name of the TV show.

One of rock's most gorgeous compositions, Buckley had sung the song on the Monkees' TV show in 1968, and Pat Boone had recorded it the following year.
