- Comments
- Date is for the first performance of the show during a tryout run at the Wimbledon Theatre in south-west London, before opening in the West End at London's New Theatre (now the Noel Coward Theatre), where it was a smash hit. It opened on Broadway with some of the cast from the London production on January 6, 1963. Although a hit on Broadway, its run there was far shorter than in London. The show has been revived several times, must recently in 2009 in London, and as of this writing continues to be produced at the Royal Theatre, Drury Lane.
