What is a label?The label is the identity that releases a medium. Label hierarchiesThere are nowadays very complex label hierarchies. When choosing a label we always choose the lowest sublabel in the hierarchy. Example: Although many sources claim Otis Redding's album The Dock of the Bay was released on the Stax label, it should be attributed to it's sublabel Volt.
