Written for the 1957 Broadway stage production The Music Man.
The work is almost identical to the 1950 song Till I Met You except for a couple of words. When Meredith Willson was creating his highly successful 1957 play “The Music Man,” he did not have to write a new love song as this hardly-remembered ballad of his from seven years earlier filled the bill nicely and required only minor changes in title and lyrics. - Published by
