- Comments
- Bowie for a long time said the protagonists were based on an anonymous couple. After his divorce from Mary Hopkin (to whom he was married at the time) producer Tony Visconti claimed that Bowie was protecting him and his affair with Antonia Maass - who also penned the German version of "Heroes". Bowie confirmed this in 2003.
