- The oldest independent jazz and blues label in Europe. Formed by Karl Emil Knudsen. Storyville, named after the eponymous district in New Orleans, focused on dixieland jazz and especially the 50's and 60's european performers of the genre, like Chris Barber and Papa Bue's Viking Jazz Band. In the beginning, the label mainly licensed recordings, but soon the label started doing own recordings, inspired by the US jazz musicians touring in Europe.
