Was it released as "Tequila"? Who was labeled as performer of this version? Label? Cat number?

So we're keeping this on hold temporarily.

Was this vid dating back to 1972 ?

This is a remake not an original, released in 1972 on Mexican Orfeon/Dimsa.

"A flamboyant showman, Prado revamped the exotic chestnuts in unique ways: "Caravan," "Taboo," "Flamingo," "Hawaiian War Chant," even "Hava Nagila." Later he toyed with such mod, 1960s hits as "Goin' Out of My Head" and "The Monkees" theme. On an Orfeon LP he even slowed down the quintessential mambo-rock tune "Tequila," making it so incredibly dark and funky it became all but unrecognizable." http://www.hipwax.com/music/latin_pp.html

EL UNICO (Dimsa/Orfeon, 1972). Contains: Si Yo Fuera - Musita - La Banda de Sinaloa - San Luis Blues - El Concierto - Mary Esther - Mi Prima Lidia - Emma - Saltando - Tequila (Supposedly, several of these songs are from older Prado LPs; otherwise new. Version of "Tequila" on here is NOT the same that appears on the Pantaleon LPs).

Je sais un peu Francais. Anglais, sil vou plais? (just a little joke)

Additional information to confirm the author as "Chuck Rio,' an aka for Danny Flores, who also plays the sax on the tune and says the word Tequila 3 x. From Wikipedia:

In 1957, Gene Autry's record label, Challenge Records, signed Dave Burgess (born 1934), a rockabilly singer-songwriter from California who often recorded under the name "Dave Dupree". At the end of 1957, having produced no hits, Challenge Records looked to Burgess, who organized a recording session on December 23 in Hollywood. In the studio that day were Burgess on rhythm guitar, Cliff Hills on bass guitar, the Flores Trio (Danny Flores on saxophone and keyboards, Gene Alden on drums, and lead guitarist Buddy Bruce), and Huelyn Duvall contributing backing vocals.[2] They gathered primarily to record "Train to Nowhere", a song by Burgess, as well as "Night Beat" and "All Night Rock".

The last tune recorded was "Tequila", essentially just a jam by the Flores Trio. There were three takes, and Danny Flores, who wrote the song, was also the man who actually spoke the word "Tequila!". Flores also played the trademark "dirty sax" solo.[3] The song served as the B-side for "Train to Nowhere", which was released by Challenge Records on January 15, 1958. Duvall recalls that the record initially found little success, but, after a DJ in Cleveland played the B-side, "Tequila" skyrocketed up the charts, reaching #1 on the Billboard chart on March 28, 1958.

Also link to the record label for that recording of Tequila and scrolling down a bit, this information for another recording:

59019 Chuck Rio (= Danny Flores) Bad Boy / Denise

Last, but not least, a recording in Spanish, with credits for Flores and Guerrero-- Lalo Guerrero, who wrote the lyrics, is a well-known for his music and known as "The father of Chicano music." Record data in on the label seen in the video-- C'est suffisant?.

Great lyrics, amusing.

Also, though not acceptable as evidence, I've always know the Perez Prado version as a cover, as it came out after the Champs version.
