This was a promotional 45 RPM 7" released in advance of an anticipated album release. The song was unsuccessful, and the album -- which also included "Dallas" -- was subsequently given only a limited release on 8-track in the United States under the artist name "Jimmie Dale Gilmore and The Flatlanders". In 1997, the 8-track was inducted into The 8-Track Hall of Fame.
In 1980, Charly reissued the recordings comprising the 8-track on LP as "One More Road", CRM 2038, under the artist name "The Flatlanders". A truncated version of these recordings was also released under the artist name of "The Flatlanders" on CD as "More a Legend Than a Band". The CD was released on the Rounder Select label in 1990, and bears UPC 011661553422. - Published by
