- Boyd Bennett was singer, band leader and musician born in Muscle Shoals, Alabama and raised near Nashville, Tennessee. In the 1940s he was a band and nightclub singer. In the early 1950s he formed his band, 'The Rockets' and played country, honky tonky and western swing music. He is best known for his rock 'n' rolll hits made later in the 1950s.
